Types of Austrian Government Scholarships:
The Austrian Development Cooperation is offering two types of scholarships to international students for 2024-25.
- Scholarships for ADC’s priority countries
- Scholarships for other developing countries
Financial Benefits:
Austrian Government Scholarships for international students in Austria is a fully-funded scholarship program. The detail of the covered expenses is appended below:
Scholarships for Priority countries include:Â
- Tuition Fee
- Accommodation Expenses
- Air Flight Tickets
- Health Insurance
- Daily meal from Monday to Sunday
- Visiting Trips
- €205 pocket money per month
Not included in the scholarship are:
- Transfer from the airport to the hostel and back upon departing
- The applicants have to pay the visa fee. The €160 charge is for an 8.5-month residence permit. Please contact your embassy for more specific information regarding the entry visa (Visa D) fees.
Scholarships for Developing countries include:
- Tuition Fee
- Health Insurance
- Meal from Monday to Friday
- Visiting Tours
- €205 pocket money per month
Not included in the Scholarship are:
- Students who receive this scholarship are required to fund the cost of their accommodations. Before an admission letter may be granted, the accommodation price of approximately €1.700, must be paid in advance.
- Students receiving this scholarship are responsible for paying their own airfare from their home countries to Salzburg and back.

Application Process Austrian Government Scholarships:
Eligible students can apply online for Austrian Government Scholarships. The following steps must be followed while applying:
- First of all the eligible candidates have to check the information about ITH from an Austrian consulate/embassy.
- Now download the ITH application form by clicking here. You can also get this form from Austrian embassies and consulates.
- Submit the completed applications directly to the Institute via post.
- The deadline date is the 1st of March every year.
- The applicants will be notified about the result of the application by the end of April. If they were awarded a scholarship then they will receive a letter of acceptance.
