East African Community Scholarships Introduction:
International Students are advised to apply for the East African Community Scholarships for the session of 2026-27. Students from the whole nation can apply for a Fully Funded Scholarship to pursue Undergraduate and Master’s Degree Programs. East African Community aspirants who are motivated, competent, and bright are invited to apply for the EAC Scholarship by the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA). The East African Community and the Federal Republic of Germany created the EAC Scholarship Program. The initiative was launched when the EAC Secretariat and the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) reached an agreement with KfW. (German Development Bank). This fully funded scholarship program will provide opportunities to develop future young leaders who will collaborate to improve the East African Community’s future.
A lot of Fully Funded and Partially Funded awards, bursaries, and internships are offered for International aspirants each year by the African Government. East African Community Scholarships for 2026-27 is also one of these scholarships. This scholarship is available to African National students. The KfW-funded Scholarships for African students are a two-year program. Students will receive a master’s degree admission offer from a university in an EAC partner state other than their home university. East African Community Scholarships Financial Coverage:
- The candidates will get a round-trip economy flight ticket from their home country to the host country.
- All university tuition expenses will be covered by the grant.
- The candidates would be paid a stipend of EUR 380 per month. This stipend will be used to cover living expenditures such as rent, utilities, local transportation, food, and relocation costs.
- A one-time grant of EUR 1,500 will be given to the candidates for study materials and research.
- Medical insurance would be provided to the candidates.

Eligibility Criteria For East African Community Scholarships:
- The candidate must be a citizen of an East African Community partner state.
- Candidates for the scholarship must be under the age of 35 at the time of application.
- The candidate must have a “Distinction” or Upper Second-Class Honours equivalent.
- Candidates must have been accepted into one of the EAC region’s partner states. The university must not be located in its own community.
- With the application, the candidate must provide a motivation letter. The motivation letter must be written entirely in English.

The application closing date for the EAST African Community (EAC) Scholarship program for 2026-27 is likely to be 30th June 2026.
Application Procedure For East African Community Scholarships:
A separate application for university admission and scholarship funding must be submitted by the applicants. The applicants can apply to more than one institution and/or study program. For each program, a separate application form must be completed.
1) Application to a university
- First, pick a subject of study and a university from the options listed above.
- Then, fill out the university’s application form. The entry form may be obtained on each university’s official website.
- Pay the application fee to the university.
- Fill out the application form and attach the required papers.
2) EAC Scholarship Application
- Fill out the EAC scholarship application online.
- Download the scholarship application form from the IUCEA website, fill it out, and submit it together with the accompanying papers in PDF format (one zip folder) to [email protected] and [email protected].
- THE SUBJECT LINE OF THE EMAIL MUST CONTAIN YOUR NAME, THE PROGRAM FOR WHICH YOU APPLIED, AND THE UNIVERSITY, e.g. Tsavo Simba, Adroit University’s MBA student.
